Zac Imhoof

Born in Tahuna (Queenstown), NZ to two adventurous ex-pats, Zac thrives in the outdoors. Having spent most of his life snowboarding, surfing, climbing, and biking, he takes to any adventure sport like a fish to water. He has been fortunate enough to see a lot of the world, spending a lot of his time sailing around Australia and the South Pacific, and has become well versed in the ways of the Pacific Ocean and the many cultures that thrive there.

Zac is right at home in the bush and has all kinds of interesting facts about foraging, medicinal plants, and the traditional use of plants for weaving baskets, making rope, or carving.

His passion for life balances between these heightened experiences in the outdoors and his creative introspective side, utilizing his product design degree to develop two community-based projects in Ōtautahi (Christchurch). The first, Christchurch Repair Revolution is a repair café that brings people together with the focus of repairing and maintaining their things, upskilling, and building resilient community networks. The second project, Precious Plastic Richmond, is a small-scale plastic recycling workspace that collects plastic lids and bottles and remolds them into beautifully coloured functional products to sell through the community garden.

Passion, creativity, and curiosity are how Zac brings people together and exposes them to different ways of experiencing their world.

“Great photos and once again thanks for the way you made our trip so memorable. Your knowledge of bush and land and human history are something that many other hikers will sadly miss as they travel across the track, we are privileged to have had you with us.”
